Vintage Rosenthal Studio-Linie Lamps by Bjørn Wiinblad (33")

Matching pair of authentic "Floor/Table" lamps designed by Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad for Rosenthal’s Studio-Linie (Germany). These are vintage statement pieces, standing nearly 3 feet tall (33"). They feature Wiinblad’s signature hand-painted blue and white glazing on heavy porcelain. It is incredibly rare to find a matching pair of this size with the original hardware intact. Designer: Bjørn Wiinblad; with authentic Rosenthal Seal on base. Both lamps retain the rare, original internal "trumpet" light diffusers (white cones under the shade). This was a high-end engineering feature used in the 1960s/1970s to prevent glare and cast a beautiful, balanced and soft light upwards and outwards, while hiding the bulb. Results in a warm, ambient glow that modern lamps rarely achieve. The original, matching large blue textured shades are included. Whimsical colouring indicative of Wiinblad's unique style. Both lamps are in working order. One lamp base is in perfect condition. The second lamp has a repairable break on the underside (bottom) and a hairline crack near the cord hole (shown in photos). These are on the back/bottom and are not visible when the lamp is displayed against a wall or on the floor. The large blue shades show some signs of vintage age (discoloration/wear to one side; small tear on another; shown in photos), but can easily be restored, reupholstered or rotated so the clean side faces the room. These are the exhibition-size models, much larger than standard table lamps. Due to their scale, these would work beautifully as focal point floor lamps to add a pop of colour and art to a large, open living space.
