Rare Pristine Georgian Decanters Matching Marks.
Matching marks means you know you are getting the right orignal lid that came with the bottle. And he we have two examples of just that. And it’s a matched set so that’s always nice they must have been someone’s pride and joy to survive this long.
Offering an exceptional, investment-grade pair of authentic late Georgian period cut glass / lead crystal decanters, circa 1800–1830. Standing at an impressive 13.25 inches tall, this matching pair represents the pinnacle of early historical glass craftsmanship.Rare Matching "Marriage" Marks:Each decanter features its original, hand-ground fan stopper. Crucially, both the stopper plugs and the bottle bases feature matching hand-etched numbers ("34" on one set, "27". In early glass production, these numbers were custom-scribed by the artisan to ensure a perfectly airtight, tailored fit. Finding an intact pair with verified matching original stoppers is incredibly rare.Design & Craftsmanship:Form: Elegant, elongated fluted necks tapering beautifully down into classic bell-shaped bodies.Cutting: Masterfully hand-cut geometric patterns featuring prominent interlocking arches, sharp diamond-cut triangles, and stylized fan/chevron details.Base: Clean, polished pontils showcasing honest, age-appropriate shelf-wear along the bottom rims.Condition:Pristine antique condition. Both decanters and stoppers are completely chip-free, crack-free, and remarkably clear with very little on the base cloudy sickness or internal staining. There is some slight staining on the bottom but not bad at all. I haven’t tried any tricks to clean them out inside. A museum-quality addition to any serious antique glass collection or an elegant statement piece for a luxury bar.
