Digitech Artist Series Eric Clapton Crossroads Effects Pedal This is a really cool pedal, with boatloads of tone on deck. At his best, Clapton was all about tone and that's exactly what this DigiTech Crossroads pedal delivers. It's so much more than a simple overdrive -- Digitech and Eric Clapton worked together to re-create seven of his most famous tones and package them into this limited production run Crossroads pedal. These seven tones consist of : Position 1 : "Badge" from Goodbye Position 2 : "Crossroads" from Wheels of Fire and Live at the Fillmore Position 3 : "Sunshine of Your Love" from Disraeli Gears Position 4 : "Layla" from Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs Position 5 : "Lay Down Sally" from Slowhand Position 6 : "Layla" from Unplugged Position 7 : "Reptile" from Reptile They all have their own unique characteristics, and I thought the acoustic guitar and rotating speaker simulations alone make it such a superb value for the money. Digitech has included some very nice flexibility with the control scheme. The pedal has four control knobs: level, model and control one and two. Level is just volume by another name and model selects each of the seven onboard tones. Controls one and two, when set at 12 o'clock, give you Eric's tones. Twisting them up or down from that centre position allows you to alter various parameters like overdrive level or amount of reverb. This extra control helps to make it feel and operate like a superbly compact multi-effects unit, which in turn means non-Clapton fans can find some useful enjoyment out of this pedal too. These were only in stores for a limited time, and are becoming harder to come by.
