The frame is slightly scratched. Born in Dinsmore Saskatchewan, Dorothy Francis 1923-2016 worked mostly with acrylic on canvas or hardboard. She is best known for her portraits of the Inuit people, who she studied extensively to ensure details of dress and artifacts were accurately portrayed.  Her compositions radiate a light hearted happiness and often feature children.
