👋Hand-Thrown Wabi-sabi Ceramic Japan Bowl
$80
Dimensions are approximately 15 cm by 6 cm (6" by 2.4").
This is a classic example of Hagi Ware (Hagi-yaki - 萩焼) from Japan, stylized as a Hachi (a medium multi-purpose serving or fruit bowl)
• The Shape: Known as Wa-kei (intentional asymmetrical deformation). The potter hand-warped the rim to give it that organic, wavy, mountain-path feel rather than throwing it perfectly round.
• The Glaze (Biwa & Oni-Hagi Style): The thick, milky-white glaze pooling over dark iron-spotted areas creates a gorgeous snowy effect. The wide-webbed lines running through the finish are textbook Kannyu (crackle glaze).
