Full Description
Up for sale is a stunning, authentic piece of contemporary Canadian art glass history. This beautiful cylinder-style console bowl was hand-blown in 1998 at the historic Thorn Glass Studio in St. Jacobs, Ontario.
Crafted by the highly-regarded glassblowing duo John Kepkiewicz and Heather Wood, this vessel showcases their signature mastery of intricate cane-work. The piece features tightly spun, multi-layered purple and clear glass ribbons that spiral seamlessly from a perfectly flame-polished center point up through the straight, substantial outer walls.
The base features a flat-polished outer resting ring where the signature "Thorn '98" is clearly hand-inscribed with a diamond-point pen. It is a brilliant, heavy centerpiece bowl that beautifully catches and refracts natural light.
