The Dieppe Raid 1942 Map by Whitehead/Macartney-Filgate

This is a copy of the top secret operational planning map for the Dieppe raid. It was issued to each regiment and marked enemy gun emplacements and barbed wire barriers. The map shows only a fraction of the armaments and defenses that would create chaos during the landing. Kept against orders by a regimental adjutant, it's a sorrowful souvenir of a massive assault doomed from the start.
