Ebony Sculpture of Blind Drummer 12"/30cm

This impressive vintage ebony carving depicts the blind drummer, Morris Nyunyusa who died in 1999. He came from Tanzania and was famed for playing 12 drums simultaneously. It measures 12"/30cm long . The quality of the craftsmanship and material is also very high. In short, this is a very desirable piece of African art. In 1997, the President of Tanzania presented a similar carving to HM Queen Elizabeth II at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. It now forms part of the Royal Collection.
