A decorated RAF pilot during WWll, Pearman was shot down over Germany and held as a prisoner of war in Stalag Luft lll-the camp made famous by the movie ( The Great Escape ) While imprisoned, Pearman used his artistic talent for the resistance, forging travel documents and identity papers to help fellow allied officers escape.
