Vintage Gary Bowden NZ Studio Pottery Jug – Fat Lava Glaze

Beautiful piece of authentic New Zealand studio pottery handcrafted by celebrated potter Gary Bowden from Tākaka (Golden Bay). This hand-thrown piece features a striking, deeply textured "fat lava" style glaze. The body is a rich, vibrant violet that gradients into soft turquoise tones around the rim, handle, and base. It has a wonderful tactile weight and presence. A fantastic addition for collectors of mid-century modern aesthetics, West German fat lava pottery, or classic New Zealand art pottery. - Features his maker’s mark on the base - about 7” tall and 6.5” wide at the widest point - there are a couple of small areas where the glaze has chipped off but otherwise in very good vintage condition 🏃‍♂️Pick up in the Ossington and Davenport area.
