About the Design: This artwork is from the prize-winning 2018 Nebuta float “Dragon King and Takeda Sadakiyo” (岩木川 龍王と武田定清) by Nebuta artist Hiroo Takenami. It depicts a legendary story of samurai retainer Takeda Sadakiyo, who worked to control flooding of the Iwaki River, and the Dragon King who appeared to calm its raging waters.
