Vintage 1960s/70s Ceramic Shire Draft Horse Figurine with Genuine Leather Harness
Up for auction is a beautiful mid-century vintage ceramic draft horse figurine, capturing the majestic stature of an English Shire or Clydesdale heavy workhorse. Produced during the peak era of British farmhouse decor (circa 1960s–1970s) by renowned Staffordshire-style potteries like Melba Ware or Melwood, this large display piece features a striking high-gloss rich chestnut brown glaze paired with heavily feathered white hooves.
The standout feature of this collectible is its highly detailed, authentic working harness livery. Unlike later reproductions that used synthetic vinyl, this vintage model is outfitted in beautifully hand-tacked genuine leather straps, complete with dual silver-toned upright metal hames, a horizontal top-hame strap, decorative hanging martingale with stamped metal horse brasses, side trace chains, a secure belly band buckle, and a full rear crupper assembly.

Completeness: The body and main pulling harness are fully complete. Please note that the matching leather headstall (bridle) and the long reins are absent, which is very common for these displayed vintage estate pieces.
Display Extras: The soles of the hooves are pre-fitted with dark protective felt pads to safely protect your furniture from scratches
