Fiji Carved wooden fork with rope handle

This is a unique carved wooden Fiji cannibal fork with a decorative rope-wrapped handle. It features intricate patterned carvings and two small shell inlays on the head. The base has a woven-like texture and a small hanging loop. Cannibal fork, red wood, bobbin-shaped handle, four prongs. 9 ins. Forks of this pattern were reserved for the use of chiefs at cannibal feasts.
