My brother introduced me to Karrot last fall, but initially, I was hesitant to try yet another app, so I didn't download it until January this year. That day in January when I first signed up, I put up a bunch of items for sale and then left to go head home. From the time I was driving to when I got home I already got TONS of messages! At that point I didn’t even know how to use the app so I was overwhelmed but in a good way. Then from there I just kept posting and posting. I love this app seriously, it’s the best! Q: Why Choose Secondhand? Everything is so expensive these days and if you can get something secondhand in good condition for half the price, why wouldn’t you? I prefer to donate and I love to give freebies away, as I see it as a way of helping folks in need and contributing to my community. Q: Tips for Selling? 1. Pricing is Crucial - Offer something for a good price that’s reasonable and be open to negotiate.* 2. Post more Freebies - People get attracted to your freebies initially but then they also take a look at your profile. Next thing you know they’re buying 5 more items from you!* 3. Communicate Proactively - Shoot them a message and let people know if you’re not going to show up. People don’t mind, it’s always better to communicate and let them know if you’re not going to follow through with a deal.* Q: What do you think makes the Karrot community special? It’s personal. There’s a connection between you and the buyer or you and the seller and the everyone in the Karrot community so far have been trustworthy, honest, and kind. Even when I give away freebies sometimes people leave extra change when they didn’t have to! I always remember to give reviews and other do the same so you’ll often see my signature review on other profiles that say “5 star buyer” ⭐️. It’s funny how you’re going for a 5 sec pick up and somehow it turns into a 20min conversation! I have a whole list of people that I keep in touch with. Q: Fun Fact I actually have a really efficient setup where I have a bin that I leave outside, and everything is packaged in bubblewrap with name tags on it with a little thank you note so people can directly pickup! And then in the bin I have a large ziplock bag with envelopes where they can write their information and put the money. It’s like an honour system! Thanks for reading everyone!
