This is the sixth generation Airport Extreme Base Station featuring simultaneous dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi. It transmits on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies at the same time, automatically connecting your devices to the best available band for fast performance. With three-stream 802.11ac technology, it can reach data rates up to 1.3Gbps. The redesigned unit is taller with six antennas at the top (three for 2.4GHz, three for 5GHz). Setup is quick and easy using the assistant built into iOS and OS X AirPort Utility. Just plug it in and follow the instructions on your Mac or iOS device. Its vertical design improves Wi-Fi performance and saves desk space, with a footprint 64% smaller than its predecessor. The power supply is built-in.
