Vintage IKEA Jarpen Coffee Table Niels Gammelgaard 1983

Classic 1980s IKEA Jarpen coffee table, designed by Niels Gammelgaard in 1983. The black steel wire grid base gives it that clean postmodern look, and the clear glass top sits inset in the frame so the grid shows through from above. Sturdy, solid and a real statement piece that works in modern or retro spaces. • Designer: Niels Gammelgaard for IKEA • Year: 1983 • Base: black steel wire and tube frame • Top: clear glass, removable for easy moving and cleaning • Size: 60 cm x 60 cm, 49 cm high (24" x 24" x 19") • Condition: great shape, with some light wear on the black frame Originals like this are becoming harder to find, especially with the glass intact.
