The purpose of this cable is to split the original stereo cable of dual-zone drum pad with "head/rim" zones (any Tom or Snare on supported drum modules - see below) into two separate cables that allow you to connect one original drum pad (which will become 1-zone pad with "head" zone) along with one additional 1-zone drum pad like Tom 4 or Tom 5. As an example, the attached photo shows how this Y-cable is attached to original 1/4 inch plug (TRS) connector of Tom 3 pad (blue line) and then how Tom 3 (red line) and new Tom 4 (green line) pads are wired. The new Tom 4 pad is configured in drum sound module as "rim" part of the existing Tom 3 instrument. Ideally, both pads connected to this Y-cable should be of the same type, e.g. both PDX-8 or both PD-85 or one PDX-6 and one PDX-8.
