Apple iMac All-in-One Desktop Computer- USB not functional

Silver aluminum Apple iMac all-in-one desktop computer. This unit has a built-in optical drive slot on the right side and multiple ports on the back including USB, FireWire, and Ethernet. The device is supported by a matching integrated aluminum stand. The USB ports are non functional but it powers up to the log in screen without issues. It needs to be opened up.
