Vintage 50's Burmese Kalaga Tapestry 40" - 3D Ramayana Chariot

This is an exquisite vintage Burmese Kalaga wall hanging, featuring a classic narrative scene of a royal chariot pulled by the mythical Pyinsarupa. Measuring a substantial 40 inches long, this piece is handcrafted using traditional techniques from Mandalay. The figures are "stumpwork" (padded) to create a dramatic 3D effect. It is heavily embellished with thousands of hand-stitched sequins and faceted glass beads that catch the light beautifully. The intricate borders feature traditional floral and vine motifs. Overall in very good vintage condition. The velvet is deep and rich, and the gold threading remains bright. Is missing one bead, please see last photo.
