Plumb bob tool Antique vintage Metalworking Tool

Great old barn-find Goodell-Pratt plumb bob, made in Greenfield, Massachusetts. A substantial vintage precision tool with heavily knurled metal body, sharp steel point and original screw-on top cap for attaching the plumb line. Approximately 4.5" long and quite heavy for its size. Clearly marked: GOODELL-PRATT TOOLSMITHS GREENFIELD, MASS. Plumb bobs like this were traditional layout tools used by builders, carpenters, machinists and other trades to establish a true vertical line. Wonderful original condition with honest workshop wear and great old-tool patina. Nice enough for display in an antique tool collection and still a perfectly functional traditional hand tool.
