Vintage Makonde “Tree of Life” or Ujamaa hand carved ebony wood sculpture. Features intertwined human figures, symbolizing family unity, community and interconnectedness. Ujamaa is Swahili for unity. Sculptures such as this one were typically carved by the Makonde people of Tanzania and Mozambique. Like new condition. No cracks or flaws of any kind. Approximately 3 3/4” wide and 6.5” tall.
