Palestinian stamps

These are Palestine Mandate stamps, issued during the British Mandate of Palestine (1920–1948). Design The stamps feature the Dome of the Rock (Qubbat al-Sakhrah) in Jerusalem. They are inscribed with “PALESTINE” in English, Arabic (فلسطين), and Hebrew (פלשתינה א"י). The Hebrew inscription includes the abbreviation א״י (Eretz Yisrael, meaning “Land of Israel”), which was added after Jewish lobbying during the Mandate period. Denominations and Colors 200 mils (purple) 50 mils (red) 100 mils (blue) 250 mils (brown) £P1 (black, “1 Palestinian pound”) These are higher-value stamps (mils and Palestinian pounds were the Mandate currency).
