Authentic Turkish Lantern

Beautiful, authentic Turkish lantern.
Purchased some years ago while I was passing through Turkey.
I've never had the right place to hang it and only ever displayed it upside down on a shelf or desk (see picture 1 - the chain hides/tucks under). Sadly, it no longer fits with my decor.
You can see the beautiful imperfections in the glass and casing that only enhance its charm.
Despite my best efforts, the pictures don't do it justice. The glass is a deep orange, not red.
I never figured out the true purpose of the round ring piece (see last picture), but it does come off (picture 4 is with it + picture 2 is without).
