Antique Sawbuck Pack Saddle Crosstree Pair Wood Iron Leather

This is a matched pair of hand-shaped wooden crosstrees from a working sawbuck pack saddle. Solid hardwood, bound at the center pivot with a leather strap and iron rivets. Each rounded foot carries a hand-forged iron ring, worn smooth from years of rope lashings. Measures 18” long x 9” high per crosstree, sold as the pair. Condition: The wood carries honest age — weathering, small nicks, deep worked patina. The iron rings show surface rust consistent with decades outdoors. The original leather binding is dry but structurally sound, with no repairs or replacements.
