About the Artist
Joan Chalmers (CC, OOnt) was a passionate visual artist deeply embedded in Canada's cultural identity. Beyond creating her own precise botanical works, she is internationally revered as one of Canada's most impactful arts activists and supporters. In 1972, she co-founded the legendary Chalmers Awards, personally dedicating millions of dollars to fund and support independent visual artists, craftspeople, and performers. For her lifetime of service to the arts, she was appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada and a member of the Order of Ontario.

Artwork & Front: Pristine condition. The original watercolor pigments retain beautiful transparency and soft, lifelike tones with zero evidence of fading or water damage. The glass face is clear, and the custom frame shows light vintage character.
