Early 20th-century American 'Black Mantel' shelf clock by William L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Connecticut. Ornate gold-finished lion head ring handles, faux-marble pillars, Gilbert 'G in a diamond' dial logo. Includes original brass key (stamped size 9), dual-chime movement, rear mechanical hatch. Mechanical: ticks briefly but doesn't keep running - needs cleaning/oiling/adjustment. Cosmetic: good structure, patina, normal wear for 100+ years. Project piece or decor.
