1979 Suzuki GS 1000 E Motorcycle

Serious buyers only. Please send a phone number to arrange a viewing. This bike is not currently rideable. It has BC registration in my name with a rebuilt title. The 1979 Suzuki GS 1000 E (manufactured 7/78) was modified by the previous owner with GS 1100 parts, including the swingarm, wheels, and brakes. The head was gas flowed, and it has adjustable camshaft sprockets, 2.2 ohm Dyna coils, silicone leads, and an electronic ignition system. It has the original 4 into 2 exhaust system, though there is damage where the link pipe crosses from left to right at the bottom of the headers (see pictures). It uses standard GS 1000 slide carbs with aftermarket pods. The engine runs well and has good power, but the brakes are very poor, likely due to fork oil on the front discs, despite lever pressure. I have only test ridden it. If you wish to ride it, the full purchase price is required in cash beforehand, as it is not roadworthy. The 2-valve motor has plenty of torque. The tank has some chips by the filler cap, but the inside appears to be in great condition. The bike was likely originally blue; the black is a respray. It needs a new owner to give it some attention. Selling due to having too many projects. No rush to sell.
