Vintage Italian White Ceramic Master Salt Cellar / Trinket Dish - Made in Italy
Up for auction is a charming, vintage white ceramic miniature vessel featuring intricate embossed baroque/rococo reliefs. Crafted with a beautiful glossy glaze, this petite piece showcases elegant scrolling acanthus leaves and classic panel molding. The underside is clearly stamped "MADE IN ITALY" and includes four green felt surface protectors on the unglazed foot rim.
Design & Potential History:
Dating from the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1970s), this style of Italian art pottery perfectly mimics ornate 19th-century Neo-Classical designs. Given its tiny footprint and interior lip rim, it was originally designed as a high-end master salt cellar, condiment pot, or individual table server (lid not included).
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or visible crazing. Glaze is bright and glossy. Green felt tabletop pads remain intact on the base. Please see photos for exact condition.
Dimensions:
Width: Approx. 4 inches (handle to handle)
Height: Approx. 3 inches
Perfect For:
An elegant desktop catchall, vanity ring dish, small succulent planter, or an addition to a vintage Italian pottery collection
