Egyptian Tree of Life Art

This is a framed painting on Egyptian papyrus paper (plant slices) of the Tree of Life (Acacia tree) with colourful birds. The painting is vintage, from Egypt in the 80s. The painting is inspired / created based on the ancient tomb painting "Birds in an acacia tree", on the wall of Dynasty XII, in the Tomb of Khnumhotep IIl, Beni Hasan, Middle Kingdom. It symbolizes eternal life, creation, and spiritual growth in ancient Egyptian beliefs. The birds represent 5 stages of human life: Infancy, childhood, youth, adulthood and maturity. The birds of the first four stages face to the east, the 'maturity' bird faces to the west. In ancient Egypt, the direction east was considered the direction of life. West - was the direction of death. The fruit of the tree was thought to provide eternal life and knowledge of the cycles of time.
