It went on to become the most well-known of his designs. Contains 1 AVDP oz of .999 pure collectible copper. Design features the Walking Liberty Half Dollar design.
Each round was privately minted from 1 avoirdupois ounce of .999 fine copper. On the front of this round is the eponymous Walking Liberty, who is crossing the great plains of America to greet the rising sun.
She is attired in a toga bearing the stars and stripes of our flag. In one arm, she clasps a bundle of laurel and oak branches, while she extends the other in a gesture of invitation.
The intention of Weinman’s design was to reflect both the peace and abundance that this country represents to so many who immigrate here. Also inscribed on this round are the words, “Liberty,” and the phrase, “In God We Trust.”
The only exception to Weinman’s original front design is the omission of the coin’s mintage date, which used to appear underneath Lady Liberty.
