Antique 1910 Mission Oak Barley Twist Armchair & Rocker
$850
This rare matching set of Arts and Crafts chairs dates back to approximately 1910. Both pieces are crafted from premium solid quarter-sawn white oak, featuring the stunning "tiger oak" grain and medullary ray flecks prized by collectors. These pieces feature the iconic Barley Twist (spiral-turned) legs and uprights, a hallmark of high-quality Mission Oak craftsmanship.
History:
This set has been cherished in our family since it was brand new over 115 years ago. It is a beautiful example of early 20th-century design, perfect for a collector or someone looking to add authentic character to their home.
Condition:
• Armchair: In very good antique condition. The frame is rock solid, the original upholstery is in good condition, and the finish has a beautiful, aged patina.
• Rocking Chair: Structurally sound and sturdy. The seat features the original tapestry upholstery, which has some tears. The internal springs also need to be pulled back up and reset. This is an ideal restoration project to bring a historic piece back to its original glory.
Dimensions:
• Armchair: 23" L x 23.5" W (front) / 19.5" W (back) x 41" H
• Rocking Chair: 32" L (total with rockers) x 23.5" W (front) / 19.5" W (back) x 37.25" H
