251Vintage Summerfield pattern Pyrex casserole dish with lid. Also known as Flower Field design. 1.5 quart capacity. No chips or cracks. Fire King kitchen glass from the mid-20th Century was a revolution for homemakers. Bakeware that could be used from the oven to the table to the refrigerator was a new concept. Retro Fire King glass is fun to collect by pattern. The Summerfield pattern, introduced in the 1973 Fire-King catalog is nick-named 'Flower Field' by collectors. Vintage Fire King kitchen glass storage and bake ware is better and sturdier (and prettier) than modern, imported Fire King glass in stores today. Back in the day, Fire-King was made in the USA. Today's Fire-King products are made offshore and the glass recipe is different...ie; synthetic.
