    Furniture ·

    $100

This smaller cabinet was manufactured in 1934 in Owen Sound, Ontario and is in excellent condition. It has three wood shelves for storage or display, two of which can be removed for larger displays. It features one large drawer with scalloped edges that opens and closes smoothly. The entire piece is adorned with original mouldings and details as well as Jacobean style spindle legs. It features a glass door that has an original locking latch that works perfectly and the hardware drop pulls on the drawer are a warm antique bronze. This small cabinet is a stunning piece of Canada's furniture making history and would make an excellent storage solution in your home. Its legs are on the original metal castors and a wood stretcher joins them. There are some wear from use over the years. Originally manufactured by the North American Bent Chair Company - John and Archibald Hay (brothers) came of a furniture-making family in Woodstock, Ontario and moved to Owen Sound in 1892. They then began the furniture-making plant known as the North American Bent Chair Co. Measures: 35" W x 15.5" D x 65" H Delivery can be negotiated depending on location.
