This is a small, hand-carved white stone Chinese guardian lion figurine, commonly known as a Foo Dog or Shishi. Foo dogs are traditional Chinese guardians symbolizing power and wealth, believed to protect a family's status. The material appears to be white marble or alabaster. The figurine is seated on a square base and features detailed carving of the mane and face. Similar vintage pieces often date to the second half of the 20th century. 3 1/2 inches high
