Vintage Olinalá Mexican Folk Art Lacquer Box – Hand-Painted Lina
$15
Authentic vintage Olinalá lacquerware box from the mountain village of Olinalá, Guerrero, Mexico—renowned for its distinctive folk art traditions and aromatic linaloe wood. This piece is hand-crafted from genuine linaloe, known for its subtle citrus-spice scent that identifies true Olinalá work.
The box is richly decorated using traditional punteado (dotted) and pintado techniques. The design features a vibrant royal blue ground with gold and white detailing, depicting a charming naïve wildlife scene of rabbits, birds, and butterflies framed by lush floral motifs. All decoration is executed entirely by hand using natural mineral pigments and traditional brushes, resulting in fine detail and a warm, organic character.
A beautiful example of Mexican folk art—ideal for collectors, display, or as a decorative keepsake box with cultural significance.
