Solid Wood. Paid over $700 for this with tax and shipping. Serves as a solid ladder or a solid chair. High back gives back support unlike other cheaper ones. Very solid and not flimsy. Great in a condo as it saves space - two items in one. Mixes well with antiques and with modern as it's a nice warm pine coloured finish. Free parking at the door of my condo, Adelaide and John.
