Collection of four vintage hardcover-bound LIFE Magazine volumes, containing original period LIFE magazines preserved together in professionally bound books. These span nearly 20 years of American and world history, from World War II in 1943 through the 1950s and early 1960s, and contain the original photography, journalism, advertisements, artwork and magazine covers from their respective periods. Individual prices: LIFE – July – August 1943 — $125. Original WWII-era LIFE magazines covering the war years, military news, home-front life, period advertising, photography and contemporary events. LIFE – March – April 1952 — $200. Early-1950s LIFE issues with period news, entertainment, photography, advertising and cultural history. Particularly interesting period for Hollywood and mid-century collectors. LIFE – July - August 1961 — $175. Original mid-1950s LIFE magazines with period photography, advertisements, current events, entertainment and American popular culture. LIFE – March - April 1966 — $60. Excellent early-1960s period containing major contemporary personalities and events, with subjects from this period including Ernest Hemingway, Brigitte Bardot, John F. These are not modern reproductions. They are vintage LIFE magazines that were collected and bound into substantial red hardcover archival volumes. Individual issues retain their period photographs, articles, advertisements and covers. The bindings and pages show normal age-related wear, marks, toning and handling consistent with magazines approximately 65–80+ years old.
