Cornelius David Krieghoff (1815-1872) was a Dutch born Canadian-American painter of the 19th century. He is best known for his paintings of Canada, its people and traditions prior to Confederation. His popular images depict the activities and traditions of Indigenous peoples and French Canadian settlers in the mid 19th century.
This lithograph is amazing in detail. The colours remain vivid.
Good condition. Framed and matted. The original gold coloured frame has some wear which commensurates with the age.
Art is approximately 11.5” wide 8” long.
Frame is approximately 16.5” wide and 13”long.
