Vintage W.J. Phillips “Picking Waterlilies” Framed Art Print

Dreamy vintage framed colour reproduction of Walter J. Phillips' Picking Waterlilies, after his early 20th-century Canadian printmaking work. Walter J. Phillips (1884–1963) was an important Canadian artist and printmaker, celebrated for his atmospheric landscapes, watercolours and colour woodcuts. His early etchings were created primarily between 1915 and 1917. This beautiful scene of a young girl beside a tranquil water-lily pond has a wonderfully soft, storybook quality. The floating lilies and blue water may also remind viewers of the dreamy water-lily paintings of Claude Monet, although this piece is associated with Phillips' Picking Waterlilies rather than Monet. This is a vintage colour reproduction/print after Phillips' work, not represented as an original 1915 etching. The Phillips signature is reproduced within the image.
