Up for auction is an exceptional piece of mid-century modern Japanese art glass produced by the renowned Multi Glass (マルティグラス) studio in Fukuoka, Japan, during the Showa retro era (circa 1970s).
This hand-blown goblet/hourglass vase showcases an exquisite multi-layered cased glass technique. It features a vibrant, high-gloss cherry-red body beautifully contrasted by a dramatic, diagonal ribbon swirl that transitions from a rich navy base into shimmering teal and seafoam green highlights.
Collector’s Note: This pristine item uniquely retains both original factory foil labels: the silver "Multi Glass" crown shield sticker and the silver "Handicraft" production sticker.
