This is a refined piece of Victorian Rococo Revival furniture. This chair is a classic example of Victorian-era design (c. 1840s–1880s), widely known as a "Balloon Back" chair. Its name comes from the distinctive rounded, open-hoop back that resembles the outline of a hot air balloon—a shape that became highly fashionable during the mid-19th century.
