Follow these steps to sync them: Step 1: Clear the Old Connection Go to your phone or tablet's Bluetooth settings. Tap the "i" (Information) icon next to your AirPods. Select Forget This Device. Step 2: Sync and Charge the Earbuds Place both the replacement earbud and your old earbud into the charging case. Close the lid and connect the case to a wired charger. Keep the case closed and let them charge undisturbed for at least 30 minutes. Why? This allows the charging case to download and install matching firmware onto both earbuds so they can talk to each other. Step 3: Pair Them to Your Device Open the lid of the charging case. The status light should start flashing amber. Press and hold the Setup button on the back of the case. Keep holding it (for about 15 seconds) until the status light flashes amber, and then switches to flashing white. Bring the case close to your device, unlock it, and follow the on-screen setup animation to complete the pairing.
