Vintage 14.5” Architectural Bentwood Bamboo Basket

Add a stunning sculptural layer to your space. This vintage Southeast Asian ceremonial basket features a gorgeous, light-catching honey lacquer finish over an incredibly detailed split-bamboo weave. What makes this piece a true showstopper is the dramatic cage-style handle, crafted from a series of beautifully arched bentwood ribs that anchor directly into the basket body. It makes a striking standalone statement piece on a sideboard, a beautiful tabletop centerpiece, or a chic hidden storage vessel. Unlike multi-tier dowry baskets, this design features a single deep chamber with a completely clean, raw unlacquered interior—perfect for holding knitting yarn, a sewing collection, rolled hand towels, or neatly tucking away living room clutter out of sight. Listing Highlights: • Premium Architectural Size: Stands an impressive 14.5” tall to the top of the handle, with an 8.5” wide basket bowl. • Functional Single Chamber: Offers a deep, spacious compartment rather than shallow interlocking trays. • Superb Fit: The woven dome lid retains its original shape and fits nice and tight. • Overall State: Excellent vintage condition. The basket is structurally rock-solid, completely clean inside, and free of musty odors. • Bamboo & Weave: The tight star-burst weave on the bottom and under-lid is entirely intact with no broken reeds or sagging. • Base: Features a reinforced starburst support wheel and a tightly coiled pedestal ring that sits completely flat without wobbling.
