0 reviews1960s Large Hand-Carved Teak Wood Sculpture of Man Praying / Weeping There is a story about two warriors associated with the weeping Buddha. The warriors would face each other during battle wearing masks. Their masks prevented them from seeing their opponents face. During one battle the older warrior won, killing the younger warrior. When the older warrior took off his mask, it was then, he realized the younger warrior was his lost son. Seeing this, the older warrior began to cry. Hence giving him the name "Weeping Buddha". It is believed that the weeping Buddha takes away the grief and troubles of the world. In return, he bestows peace and provides strength to those who rub his back.
