LARGE VINTAGE CERAMIC SHIH TZU DOG STATUE FIGURE

Figurine Details and OriginThe Design: This specific vintage mold depicts a long-haired dog breed, highly sought after by collectors of both Shih Tzu and Maltese decor.Production Method: These types of figurines were incredibly popular projects in mid-to-late 20th-century ceramic hobby classes. A blank clay piece was poured from a mass-produced plaster mold, fired into bisque, hand-painted by an amateur or independent artisan, and finished with a glossy clear glaze. The Inscription: Because it is a hobbyist piece rather than a factory-line item from a major commercial house, the "DJR" represents the unique stamp of the individual artist who painted and completed this specific dog.
