American Airlines

Rare, hand-carved and hand-painted clay American Airlines airplane. This unique piece of airline memorabilia is a regional folk art piece commissioned by local Peruvian artisans to commemorate the historic inauguration of the American Airlines flight route from New York (JFK) to Cusco, Peru. Features the classic vintage "AA" scissor-eagle livery hand-painted on the sides and tail. Measures roughly hand-sized (smaller than a typical desk model). Condition: good/Vintage. Please note that since posting, I glued back two of the bottom landing wheels/pegs which had broken off (see photos for detail). The hand-painted graphics are entirely intact with minor vintage wear on the wood surface.
