Seiko SKX007

Seiko SKX007 Automatic Dive Watch. PLEASE READ!!! This is the Seiko SKX009J, which is designated as made in Japan. The serial dates it back to October 1997, which makes sense since it has a 7s26A movement. The ones you’ll find will either have a 7s26B or most likely C. This is now considered Neo-vintage and it shows. With the lightly faded bezel, the watch gives a natural patina due to its time out in the sea. The previous owner was a lifeguard and avid diver. I’m the second owner, though my activities were limited to non water activities with the occasional swim. I haven’t worn this lately and it’s best to pass it to someone who will appreciate it and use it as it’s originally intended. I don’t know of its service history. I would suggest you get it pressure tested and have fresh gaskets if you wish to take it for a dive. Getting a new 009 is ridiculous as it’s commanding a stupendously high price, let alone it being a J version. What this watch gets you is a vintage lived-in charm that most collectors salivate over. You can see in the pictures it looks good for its age, and the tiny nicks and scratches are negligible. Most importantly, it still keeps time, and I’m sure it will also serve as a great diving companion!
