Take out containers in great condition. Well soaked and rinsed. I don't want them to go into the recycling system just yet, I would rather they get reused first of not several more times. It is really unclear as to where materials end up after entering the recycling system. Some places like malls mark their bins as recycling but everything goes to the garbage. Though as much as recycling is great, it does require energy to achieve and often isn't a very good system as it usually requires collection, sorting, a buyer, recycler, then producer using recycled materials. Many are recyclable yet not what the system can handle to incorporate and ends up contamination batches. I blame that on poor sorting and a bad overall system. I don't believe that it is practical for the expectation to sort and rince to be on the consumer. I try to, I think it makes a difference to mold growth and degradation of materials, but if everyone isn't is the difference beneficial if everything gets mixed together and the sorters only send clean sections of materials into recycling, then... There is a plan that is emerging, I am curious if it will be effective or make things worse and just giving the government less responsibility. Anyways, that's my rant for now, I hope you enjoyed reading and it sparked some thought in you if you haven't already thought about it in these ways.
