The Royal Family Pop-Up Book

This is a vintage pop-up book featuring the Royal Family. It is in great condition with no tears or rips. It is a great collector's item! Montagu-Smith is renowned for his headship at Debrett's Peerage and there is no one better qualified to create this masterpiece. Most pop-up books are intended for children but not here. We have had it from the beginning and it is very rarely opened. On the few occasions we do peer in, everything is handled with the utmost care and respect. Such a book will never be made again and the attention to detail is phenomenal. The condition too is incredible with crisp 3D figures and still-strong moving parts. There are two tiny adhesive marks from when the book was taped shut for many years to preserve its contents. The result is a book which is almost 40 years old yet looks and feels like new. Absolutely outstanding. There are 6 pop-ups and I don't want to spoil the surprise for when you open it for the first time at home. So I have included only two double page pop-ups as a 'taster' in the photographs. The others are all equally superb and utterly breath-taking in terms of sheer craftsmanship. One features Princess Diana & Prince Charles on the balcony at Buckingham Palace showcasing THAT kiss! The other is of a tender moment shared by Diane and Charles with Young Prince William as an infant. Unlike other Pop-up books, this one provides multiple actions and movements when just one tab is gently pulled. All thanks to the genius of Paper Engineer Duppa Whyte and Roger Payne who has an international reputation as a realist artist. Measures 12" x 8.5" or 21cms x 30cms.
