For installation below grade, over crawl spaces or on concrete, a moisture/vapour barrier is required. This may be provided as a feature of the underlayment or, in the case of an underlayment without moisture/vapour barrier, a 6-mil poly moisture/vapour barrier must be installed and sealed before the underlayment.
